Shoreditch as no shortage of great places to eat, drink and be merry. You actually are completely spoilt for choice. Here are our top picks for bars and restaurants in Shoreditch…
Beigel Shop
Beigel Bake first opened in 1855 and there has been no looking back since then.
Often in competition with its nemesis, Beigel Shop three doors down, Beigel Bake has a distinct charm and its own dedicated following. The old-school, no-fuss approach is visible by its simple menu and premises.
The hot salt pork/beef beigel sandwich is stuffed with juicy salty meat, a smear of mustard and pickles to complete the heavenly combination.
Tramshed
The installation by Damien Hirst is the highlight of this restaurant, which features a cow and a cockerel. This visual hints at the menu available at Tramshed – steak and chicken.
The menu is simplified, with only three starters, and the mains and desserts menu is kept short as well. It is obvious that Tramshed is simplifying gastronomy by focusing on the core items and doing away with clutter. In fact, this theme is also visible in their decor.

Hoi Polloi
Modern brasserie, this restaurant and bar is a great place to drop by for dinner, if you are lucky enough to get a table.
This canteen-style brasserie is adorned with high ceilings. On the high-end side, this restaurant is hipster central.
The food is delicious and well cooked. We recommend their sautéed wild mushrooms on sourdough with, in the middle, a runny duck-egg yolk. The drinks and cocktails – a bit overpriced compared to other establishments – are a great option to finish off your meal.

Embassy East
Known for its coffee, Embassy has encompassed a lively young following. Their kitchen dishes out delectable toasties like salmon, egg and beetroot, which is a sure-fire win.
The beverages take the trophy though, especially the freshly brewed flat white, which is made to perfection. The hot chocolate is quite divine too. At a reasonable price, this café turns up great food and coffee every time.
