Namaste: All The Latest Yoga Meetups

Looking to tone up and want to socialise at the same time? Why not join a yoga event and express namaste? There are plenty of events all over the UK that combine this trendy form of exercise with meeting people, trying new food and finding unique ways to stay healthy. We’ve rounded up some of the best yoga events coming up in London and beyond throughout the rest of this year…

Be:Fit London

yogaAt the end of April, Be:Fit, the UK’s only health and fitness festival for women, returns. Held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, the event is designed to improve your lifestyle and encourage you to become healthier and happier without the pressure of dieting.

If you attend Be:Fit, you can expect a whole range of foodie and fitness delights, including yoga classes, talks from fitness experts, workshops and live cooking demonstrations from vegan and veggie brands.

Disco Yoga

Disco Yoga is a relatively new craze for people who want meditation to be more fun. It’s ideal for anyone who loves drinking and getting up on the dance floor. You don’t need any previous yoga experience and the drinks tend to be natural (think kale, coconut and blueberries). Disco Yoga can be found at various venues including Popes Road in Brixton (Tuesdays at 10pm, £10 per person) and Trapeze Bar in Shoreditch (Tuesday nights from £16 per person).

OM International Yoga Day, London

namasteInternational Yoga Day was introduced a few years ago by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, and is held on July 18. Modi believes that yoga “is not about exercise but to discover the oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.” England will be joining in with International Yoga Day once again this year, and the grounds of Alexandra Palace will be full of classes to suit all abilities. You can even pick up some new yoga gear while you’re there. namaste
