Football: Premier League Predictions from RamboFYI

A cracker line up this weekend kicking off with a chance for Chicharito to show his skills. Chelsea will be mightily unhappy about last week’s loss to Palace. Tired legs with the two Europa league teams in Arsenal vs Everton but one would suspect Arsenal will be fresher.

How many do City put into the net?

West Ham vs Brighton

RamboFYIFriday night football hasn’t quite got going yet for the Premier League and I don’t hold many high hopes for this game.

The Hammers look jaded and lacking in spirit and they face a Brighton side that seems to be content with a quite average start to the season. Javier Hernandez is overdue a goal and could be the key man in this tight affair.

Prediction: 1-1

Chelsea vs Watford

RamboFYIThe reigning champions and shock under performers will take on the season’s over-achievers in round nine.

Marco Silva has turned a shaky Watford into a battling unit that has a bit of quality of its own. Antonio Conte will be desperate for his side to bite back after last weekend’s awful loss to Crystal Palace.

A game that will be decided on the manager’s benches as their tactics will play the main role in deciding the winner.

Prediction: 2-1

Man City vs Burnley

RamboFYISurely somebody is going to stop this goal-machine that is Manchester City? Sadly for the other title contenders, I don’t think it will be this weekend’s visitors to the Etihad.

Burnley beat Chelsea and stunned Liverpool by gaining a point but their luck may run out when Pep Guardiola’s men go hunting for yet another lop-sided win.

Prediction: 3-0

Swansea vs Leicester

Two sides that I expected to do better go head to head and it’s tough to pick a winner. Swansea’s summer signings have flopped so far and Leicester looks very similar to the disinterested group of players that Claudio Ranieri left behind.

Prediction: 0-0

Huddersf’d vs Man U

round nineI’ve got a feeling that round nine will be a magical day in Yorkshire for the home side. There’s something about the romance of a small club beating Manchester United that always seems to give them a chance.

Huddersfield will be fired up to host the Red Devils and a big result could be on the cards following United’s poor performance at Anfield and the Wednesday night trip to Portugal to face Benfica.

However as we’ve seen so many times, ManU always find a way and will do this weekend as they have too much up front,

Prediction:1-2

Newcastle vs Palace

Image result for newcastle unitedPalace will be trying to make it two straight wins after beating Chelsea in a huge result for Roy Hodgson and Co.

Newcastle is unbeaten in four and Rafa Benitez’s tactics seem to be are working perfectly, so the home side will aim to spoil the visitors’ new-found confidence.

Prediction: 1-0

Stoke vs Bournem’th

RamboFYIBournemouth seriously needs goals but with no strikers looking fresh or ready to play the savior round nine could turn out to be another disappointing day for the seasiders. Stoke has been doing no better in attack but did manage to score twice against a solid Man City last weekend, and that could be the start of a positive run for Mark Hughes’ side.

Prediction: 1-0

Southampton vs W. Brom

Southampton has finally ended its goal drought with last weekend’s double from Manolo Gabbiadini and with the visitors struggling for any momentum, the Saints should fancy their chances at St Mary’s.

Prediction: 2-0

Everton vs Arsenal

RamboFYIThis fixture always seems to deliver something special and with the pressure rising on both managers it’s set to be a cracker. Ronald Koeman’s Everton looks wobbly at the back and can’t seem to find the back of the net often enough while Arsenal showed the old cracks were still there before being labeled soft by Watford striker Troy Deeney. The hosts will feel they can cause an upset and I’d back them with Wayne Rooney on the score sheet – he loves a goal against the Gunners.

Prediction: 3-1

Spurs vs Liverpool

Image result for image spurs liverpoolBoth of these sides had promising midweek results with Spurs getting a point away from home at Real Madrid and Liverpool scoring seven to batter NK Maribor.

Harry Kane’s form will frighten Jurgen Klopp’s back line and even though the Reds have a number of their own dangerous attackers the shakiness in Liverpool’s defence makes me edge towards a home win.

Prediction: 2-1
