Another massive weekend with some tired legs from the mid-week action across Europe. The tips and are and we are going for a clean sweep of the points. You don’t want to miss the action at Stamford Bridge where City take on Chelsea, possible without Aguero and Rafa heads back to Liverpool where he must have a few emotions hanging around.
Here’s where we see that action this weekend.
Huddersfield vs Spurs
Another early kick-off for Spurs following last week’s 2-3 win at West Ham, which will have the Lilywhites geared up for a trip to Yorkshire.
Huddersfield’s brilliant start is beginning to lose momentum and its dwindling productivity up front makes Tottenham the favourite for a win.
Harry’s boot is starting to glow so you’d better watch out.
Prediction: 1-3.
Bournemouth vs Leicester
You have to feel sorry for Bournemouth as one win in six games is not a fair reward for its performances.
The team seems to be playing well but the lack of quality in front of goal has been costing Eddie Howe’s team the results. Leicester on the other hand keeps leaking goals but has got plenty of ammo going forward with Jamie Vardy back in hot form.
It should be an enticing game but the Cherries’ luck has surely got to be in, they deserve it.
Prediction: 3-2.
West Brom vs Watford
Tony Pulis has admitted his West Brom side hasn’t been good enough so far this season and with Marco Silva bringing a resilient side to the Midlands it should be an enthralling battle between two defensively well-matched sides.
Watford’s quality in the final third should give the visitors an away three points.
Prediction: 0-1.
West Ham vs Swansea
These are two sides that don’t know how high their expectations for this season should be after each seemed to have a solid transfer window.
The Hammers haven’t got going yet and neither have the Swans, making this one of the hardest tips of the round.West Ham actually took the game by the scruff last week and showed some fight.
It should be an end-to-end game with both sides believing they can take gold at the 2012 OIympic stadium.
Prediction: 1-1.
Stoke vs Southampton
This might be the worst game of the weekend with both sides lacking leadership, goals and creativity in the final third.
Stoke took a precious point at home against Man United a couple of weeks ago but has since taken a beating at the hands of Chelsea.
For their part, the Saints are searching for a goalscorer to pull them out of a poor run of form.
Prediction: 0-0.
Man United vs Palace
Palace is still looking for its first goal of the season while its latest opponent Man United has scored a whopping 17.
That makes this one of the easiest tips of the round. There is only one likely winner at Old Trafford and another battering looms for Roy Hodgson and Co, so the wait for a goal could go on for at least another week.
You should change your fantasy league captain to Romelu Lukaku if you want serious points.
Predicition: 4-0.
Chelsea vs Man City
This should be an absolute cracker.
Chelsea has been gathering momentum led by the brilliant Alvaro Morata while City seems to be blowing away anybody it comes across including Liverpool a couple of weeks ago.
It will be a battle of two tactical managers and the one who gets it right will take the points. Pep Guardiola’s free flowing, goal-scoring City should just edge Antonio Conte’s resolute and decisive Chelsea.
Prediction: 2-3.
Arsenal vs Brighton
Brighton managed to nick three points in a dire battle against Newcastle last weekend but Arsenals look to be getting things back together again on and off the pitch.
The Gunners will have too much for the seasiders, with Mesut Ozil coming to life against a weaker opposition as usual.
In fairness though, Arsenal have played on Monday, Thursday and now Sunday. Not sure they’ll be loving the Europa league at the moment.
Prediction: 1-3.
Everton vs Burnley
Forgotten man Oumar Niasse inspired Ronald Koeman’s men against Bournemouth last weekend, finding the net twice as a substitute to rescue his side from a possible shock at Goodison Park. However, the Europa league result won’t have them confident.
Burnley has had a strong start, losing just once in six games, and has looked solid defensively.
I’m expecting a counter-attack display from Burnley but another Niasse goal will settle the points as that would fit the fairy tale storyline perfectly.
Prediction: 1-0.
Newcastle vs Liverpool
It’s going to be an emotional day for Rafa Benitez as he comes up against the club he led to one of the greatest Champions League wins ever and almost a Premier League title.
Feelings aside, the atmosphere will be bouncing as it often is for this fixture and Jurgen Klopp will hope his Liverpool side can keep its nerve against the gritty Magpies to make it two Premier League wins on the trot.
Prediction: 2-3.
