Football: RamboFYI’s Premier League Predictions

Ready for the weekend. Got through those cup games which at this stage of the season are just a little boring. It’s time that the cream rises to the top and the clubs with ambition start to nail 3 points more often than leak 2.

Liverpool v Leicester looks a cracker. Will the Manchester teams out score each other? Chelsea will be happy Hazard is back and the Costa issue is over.

West Ham vs Spurs

Spurs need to earn as many points away from home as possible until Mauricio Pochettino can figure out how to win at Wembley.

West Ham have had a really slow start to the season but a London Derby could be exactly what the players need to get them going. It’ll be a game stacked with chances but won narrowly by Spurs and their prolific forward line.

Prediction: 1-2.

Burnley vs Huddersfield

Burnley seems to be able to play well against sides that are clearly stronger but its performances against smaller clubs make you wonder whether Sean Dyche’s men can do the job on Huddersfield.

After a dream start the Yorkshire club seems to be losing momentum and this is when we’ll see what they’re really made of. The Clarets’ Premier League pedigree should see them over the line.

Prediction: 1-0.

Everton vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth overcame a terrible run of form to scrape past Brighton and Everton’s new-look side doesn’t seem to be gelling.

The stage might be set for the Cherries to punish the Merseyside club but The Toffees seem close to getting things right soon. Ronald Koeman’s desperation for a win might give them the edge at Goodison Park.

Prediction: 3-2.

Manchester City vs Crystal Palace

I feel sorry for Roy Hodgson. The defeat to Southampton was a surprise but Palace now faces two trips in a row to Manchester  and I can’t see them producing anything but absolute thumpings. The Etihad atmosphere and Pep Guardiola’s unstoppable attack force will heap more misery on the Eagles.

Prediction: 3-0.

Southampton vs Manchester United

Image result for image manu southamptonJose Mourinho enjoys this fixture, having won five of his last seven games against Southampton.

The Saints have started the season in a strangely slow and meandering way with the team showing a lack of purpose.

United on the other hand looks too hot to handle and I’m expecting another big victory for the visitors.

Prediction: 1-4.

The Reds do keep putting 4 in the net,

Swansea vs Watford

There have been zero goals in the two games since Gylfi Sigurdsson left Swansea and the team looks lost when it is attacking.

Watford on the other hand started the season brilliantly but has just suffered a huge loss at the hands of Man City. I’m expecting a low scoring game that could go either way.

Prediction: 1-0.

Stoke vs Chelsea

Stoke has looked lacklustre so far this season and Chelsea seems to be arriving in the title race at just the right time now that talisman Eden Hazard is fit again.

The draw against Arsenal was a minor setback and although Stoke have caused upsets in this fixture in the past I can’t see anything but a Chelsea win. I’m expecting an exciting game requiring a piece of magic from someone to settle the result.

Prediction: 1-3.

Leicester vs Liverpool

Liverpool is on the ropes and Leicester is the perfect team to make it pay. Two counter-attacking sides go head to head and neither has had the start to the season it wanted.

Liverpool, as always, can’t stop conceding goals and Leicester doesn’t seem to have a great deal of conviction about it. It should be an enthralling encounter as always with the Reds squeezing their way to three vital points.

Prediction: 2-3.

Brighton vs Newcastle

This is set to be an absolute cracker between two of the newly promoted sides. Newcastle has won its last two games and is beginning to look strong and Brighton has displayed some real resilience so far this season.

It should be an end-to-end game between two very evenly matched sides with it being decided by one late goal.

Prediction: 0-1.

Arsenal vs West Brom

Arsenal took a big point away from home against Chelsea in the last game with Arsene Wenger’s men showing some real grit and determination to come away with the draw.

West Brom are set-piece specialists and will rely on a good delivery causing panic in the Arsenal box. It will be a good game but the Gunners should take the points.

Prediction: 2-0.
