Tech: Is VR Porn Really That Good?

Few people will admit to watching porn but the statistics tell us that a hell of a lot of us watch it. Fun fact: porn has accelerated quite a few technological developments such as digital photography, video streaming and cable TV, just to name a few. Pornhub had 92 billion porn videos viewed in 2016, and that’s just one website! Virtual Reality technology is just going to make porn even more popular. VR is certain to revolutionise not just gaming but also travel, retail and many other industries, and the consumption of porn is in for a shake-up.

VRLet’s get down to the dirty stuff. What is the difference with VR porn? The answer is that it is the most realistic version of porn and it makes viewers feel as if they are part of the action, making the experience more immersive. First you will need a VR headset. With some cheap headsets, like the Google Cardboard (£11) or HOMiDO Grab VR headset (£25) you can just slide in your smartphone and download porn apps.

But for the most immersive experience you would probably want to get an HTC Vive (£759) or an Oculus Rift (£598), which link up directly to your computer/laptop and have far better frame rates, sound and motion tracking.

There are also lots of optional accessories available to make the VR porn experience even more immersive but you can’t buy them from the headset manufacturers. Lovense is a company which specialises in making accessories for VR porn for both men and women. Those accessories even move in sync with what is happening in the video and are controlled wirelessly.

Once you have your headset on you can go onto popular free porn sites as they are most likely to have a VR section, or pay a subscription for new specialised VR porn sites like badoinkvr.com which send you new videos every week.

VR porn can be experienced from the perspective of the actor or actress, and if that’s a bit too close-up for you there is also the option of experiencing it as if you’re just in the room watching, which is still getting a bit closer to the action than viewers are used to.

The videos will let you turn around 180 degrees or 360 degrees but some of the 360-degree ones will show the camera operator. If you don’t want to see the person doing the filming simply stick to the 180-degree options.

VRThe main difference with VR porn is that instead of watching people have sex you feel like you are directly involved in the action as you see it from that perspective.

VR porn is not something you have to do by yourself and you can try it with your partner to spice up your sex life. You can act out what is going on in the video and live out each other’s fantasies.

In fact VR porn might be the perfect compromise to fulfil your partner’s fantasies without actually having to do them in real life. Just remember to lock the door before you try it out!
