Outdoors: Where to Enjoy the London Sun

Get your sunglasses on. London is only going to get sunnier from now on, so you can step out of hibernation and start socialising again. Here are four amazing spots to soak up some vitamin D with your friends.

Number 90’s Bar and Kitchen

sunSituated in Hackney Wick, Number 90’s bar and outdoor space offers live music, art exhibitions, DJ sets and an extremely tasty Sunday roast. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a hard day’s work.

The reason it’s so good for the summertime is that it has a huge waterside terrace which is ideal for a refreshing beer with your mates. You will see plenty of canal boats cruising by and you will be in no hurry to leave.

Nomadic Gardens

sunI was quite surprised to discover the Nomadic Gardens as it’s unlike anything I’ve seen in London. You can find it just off Brick Lane in Shoreditch. The people behind it are known for transforming disused areas into community spaces. The place is filled with art and music and welcomes people from all walks of life.

It has grown into what it is today through volunteering and you can definitely feel a sense of community. It is usually busiest on Sundays when it tends to host jam sessions.

 Netil House Rooftop

sunThere is street food, music, drinks and it’s on a roof! Stunning views, sun and drinks is a pretty good formula.  Netil is a really great atmosphere to chill out. You can find this spot next to London Fields and it has a great vibe when the sun is out.

It hosts lots of cool events from outdoor movie screenings to workshops and talks. Have a look at the events for summer, there’s sure to be something there for you.

The Culpeper Pub

sunPubs are not really known for having amazing rooftops but this one does! The Culpeper is in Spitalfields so if ever you’re in that area on a sunny day be sure to go check it out. It has a fantastic roof garden with stunning views of the Heron Tower and the Gherkin.  The food is unbelievable and being a pub the choice of beers is more than satisfying.

When the sun is out the staff set up a barbecue on the roof garden and serve some excellent burgers.

These sunny spots are waiting to be checked out.  Would you rather be by the canal, in a bohemian wonderland or on a roof? You decide. Let us know what you think of these cool places and don’t forget your sunscreen.
