Football: Which Players Are On the Move?

The rumours are already flying on which players are going where and what club is interested in signing them. The pressure to sign players has increased in recent years with TV deals giving clubs more money to spend, fuelling  the competition for players.

Michael Keane

playersLiverpool has been cited more often than any other club as being ready to sign players in the lead up to the summer transfer window. Michael Keane has been closely linked and I believe Liverpool will sign the ex-Manchester United youngster.

After a successful season with Burnley and his first call-up to the England squad, the 25-year-old seems to have a big fan in Jurgen Klopp. He is a cheaper option than Virgil Van Dijk and Liverpool desperately needs another centre-back, so I can see this deal being one of the first of the summer.

James Rodriguez

playersThe Colombian play maker who followed the big money from Monaco to Real the same year Falcao loaded to United really hasn’t been given the game time you would expect.

Falcao’s trip to Manchester wasn’t that fruitful but Rodriguez would be an instant winner. Talk that he doesn’t light up Zidane’s world continues. £50m would be the price but the discussion about De Gea (below) will of course be linked and United have little interest in talking about that move.

David De Gea

playersThe Spanish international was one signature away from signing for Real Madrid in 2015 and this summer Real is expected to snap him up. Having failed to fully replace Iker Casillas,

Madrid has been on the hunt for the perfect man to take up the legendary goalkeeper’s number one jersey. De Gea would be mad to leave United as he’s on track to become a legend.

You would expect Manchester United to receive about £60 million plus Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas.

Arda Turan

playersArsenal’s love of overloading its midfield with new signings every summer may continue if Arsene Wenger remains in charge, which I believe he will.

Arda Turan has been on the fringes for Barcelona ever since he arrived at the Camp Nou and with his price tag at around £20 million, I would be surprised if Arsenal didn’t make a move for the Turkish international.

I expect Santi Cazorla to be playing first team football again next season but Arsenal will need cover in that position, making Turan an obvious target.

Leonardo Bonucci

playersAntonio Conte will be looking to add to his defense this summer in an attempt to compete in the Champions League next season while also chasing a Premier League double.

Leonardo Bonucci voiced his joy at having won every trophy available in Italy recently after being linked to the Blues. He has played under Conte for more than three years, and I expect Chelsea to splash out £50 million on signing the 30-year-old to replace Gary Cahill, who will probably be on Conte’s exit list.

Kylian Mbappe

playersThis is the name on every manager’s wishlist but it truly is just a wish for all of them except Zinedine Zindane. The Real Madrid legend has expressed his admiration of Monaco’s 19-year-old forward and has also hinted he may fit into the Galacticos’ style of play.

The youngster has been linked to any club that can afford £70 million but has previously said it would be a dream to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. The French connection between him and Zidane should see him move to the Bernabeu this summer.

I expect players to be sold for much larger fees than expected this summer due to the high demand for top players and the increase in competition. With top clubs other than Juventus and Real Madrid struggling in the Champions League this season you can see how a game-changer like Mbappe will attract a huge fee.

Manchester United paying £90 million for Paul Pogba was a sign of things to come.
