The handy site, ourparks.org.uk, let’s you choose from 23 London boroughs and over 90 parks, the site allows you to book work out classes, all of which are free. The classes are with trained professionals and all you need to do is fill out an online form and turn up, all completely free. Another way to bust the winter pounds but save the ever so important sterling is to get appy!
There is a plethora of apps for getting trim. There is an app for almost all types of fitness activity, you can find apps through Apple and Android devices for running, yoga, squatting, crunches, and even quick workout routines. Nike have a running app (Nike+ Run Club), and there are many apps for mindful fitness activities such as yoga and pilates, such as Yoga Studiom which is £3.99 and has a five star rating, much cheaper than a yoga class. Many such apps have small exercise routines that increase in intensity and difficulty and you continue to use it. These are a great alternative if you want to exercise in the privacy of your own space.
If small-scale swindling in more your avenue we have a work out guide for you too. Trial memberships are a great way to test a gym and see if it’s something you’re interested in, you don’t break the bank or sign a contract keeping you tied down to a gym for a long period of regret where you are obliged to pay but don’t ever end up going. Many gym’s offer free trials so you can test before you commit.
Additionally, many also offer guest passes, so if a friend, flatmate or partner already has a membership then chances are you can work out with them for free using a guest pass. Gym’s such as The Gym Group and Pure Gym offer day or three-day gym passes where you simply choose your closest gym and pay a small sum to use the gym, rather than having to sign a 6 month/year long contract. Pay as U Gym allows you to choose from day passes, 5 day passes, month passes and 10 visits passes for a fee but without being tied into a contact. Additionally, you can join free exercise clubs where you work out in a group for free.
London has a host of various groups, from running, yoga to cycling. The gym clothing brand Sweaty Betty also host free exercise classes so you can work out, sign up, book and slot and head to one of their four locations around London.
