Moana has been out at the cinemas for quite a while now and is still being screened at many however I don’t think it’s animated amazingness is getting as much buzz as it deserves.
For those who don’t know, the film is about an Ancient Polynesian chieftain’s daughter, Moana (Cravalho), who embarks on a journey to find the Demigod Maui (Johnson) who is the only one who can lift a terrible curse from her island. There are many great qualities about this film: the animation is stunning, some songs are truly beautiful, and the film contains some good morals. But in all honesty, the only fact you really need to know about this film is… It’s fun!
Although there are some emotional moments in the film, it is mainly just a bunch of good jokes with an exciting adventure at the midst of it. Some of the songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda are more elegant then others but they are all extremely catchy, in a good way though! And the characters! Moana is probably the coolest princess in the Disney Princess club, and Maui, the number-one sidekick in Disney history!
If you cannot tell by the amount of exclamation points I’ve used in this paragraph, I really loved this film and strongly recommend anyone to go see it!
This is a great movie, but I don’t believe it’s getting the attention it deserves. Disney obviously worked hard on Moana but I’m sad to say it is unlikely that ‘Moana’ will become a classic like ‘The Lion King’ or ‘Frozen’ because of the lack of interest many people have for it.
