Shopping at Brockley Market

Cooler than Borough! That’s what this market in south London claims proudly. We concur and here’s why.

The Market

Located in an open space in the car park of Lewisham College the produce here is as varied as it is seasonal – and wholly organic to boot, everything is locally sourced. They also offer a mean joint and a finger licking cheese charcuterie. There are also a host of street vendors to appease your palate and sate your appetite.

Jacobs Ladder

Jacobs Ladder Farms provide encouragement to smaller farming establishments and food processors by helping them trade in the London market. All participants uphold natural farming and processing practices supplying their customers with organically grown produce.

Fosse Meadow

One of the many reasons why we love Brockley Market is the Fosse Meadow stall. Poultry at Fosse Meadow is produced the traditional way – by keeping the birds healthy. They raise chicken, geese, cockerels, and turkey too!

Wild Country Organics

This one is for vegans. Wild Country Organics grow vegetables organically and have been awarded the Soil Association Certificate in 1998. Adrian Izzard uses his home developed techniques to grow not only traditional veggies but also new and unique varieties. Wild Country Organics are especially known for their tomatoes, herbs, and salad leaves.

Flavours of Spain

Flavours of Spain in Brockley Market brings you a selection of Spanish cheeses, tapas, and more. You have charcuterie, Mojama (dry tuna), and a variety of vegan dishes and cheese to tease your palate. Flavours of Spain is a cut above the mundane Patatas, Bravas, changing the menu every other week and tantalizing you with a unique mix of flavours and blends.

Mike & Ollie

The only reason the street vendors turned restaurateur Mike & Ollie are still on the street is to make people happy with their fresh, seasonal, unique, and delicious dishes from over the world. The ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal so you can always be sure to get fresh food that will keep you coming back for more.

Fleischmob

If you haven’t visited them at Deptford you can grab a bite – or mouthful – at Brockley Market after you are done shopping. Seasonal food washed down with local beer is what you’ll get. Their Deptford restaurant has much more to offer – and in a double decker bus at that – but the Brockley Market street shop is a great place for a first bite.

Mother Flipper

Well done, rare, dry, or medium, you can have your meat as you like it here. Fans of Mother Flipper say the joint has “ruined them” for eating burgers elsewhere. So if you haven’t had a bite yet, do so at Brockley Market after a morning spent stocking up.

Brockley market offers you more than just your regular stock of groceries et al. Check the website for opening hours, offers, and more.
