Shopping for a Great Look for Under £100

We all love to have an amazing outfit to wear but during this time of the year we all face the battle between having too little money and too many occasions to go to. A great look for under £100 is the challenge. Although high street sales seem temporarily appealing, heading to Oxford Circus in December always ends in disaster and an anxiety attack and you’ll most likely walk out with the same outfits as everyone else – something you’ll regret at your next party.

London is expensive but if you know the right places to look you can come out with not only a bargain, but also something individual that will make you stand out from the crowd. Vintage stores and independent boutiques are great places to look for inexpensive fashion and limited pieces.

under £100Rockit in Covent Garden is great for both men’s and women’s fashion. The Covent Garden branch is their flagship store and is a lot bigger than you would expect looking in from the outside. Although there is a large range,

Rockit is aimed towards a younger crowd with the focus more on late 80’s and 90’s casual day pieces. They have a great selection for both men’s and women’s fashion and you can easily purchase a whole new day or night outfit for under £100.

Jeans: £35

Faux fur coats: £65-£150

Leather bags: £30

Skirts: £6-£20 (I nabbed myself a houndstooth miniskirt for £15)

Jumpers: £15-£35 with cashmere jumpers being available at the higher price mark

Tops: £5-£30

Party dresses: £30-£70

Shoes: £13-£45 with Coach heels being priced at the £45 mark

under £100Blondie is right by Spitafield’s Market in East London and is an Absolute Vintage boutique. Although slightly pricier than Rockit, it showcases more designer pieces and boasts more occasion wear and day dresses than it does casual outfits so is fit for a wider age range.

Blondie isn’t the biggest store but is piled high with shoes and bags and clothes are hung from the ceiling to maximise space. Unfortunately Blondie doesn’t cater to men just yet.

Coats: £50-£150

Leather bags: £30-£110

Skirts: £30-£100

Jumpers: £25

Party dresses: £60

Shoes: £25-£100 with Dior shoes pricing at £98 and YSL shoes at £85

under £100Within walking distance from Blondie you end up at Brick lane – the home of East London vintage stores. Brick Lane Vintage is currently booming with sales – both upstairs and downstairs.

Here you’ll find Dr Marten’s boots to Burberry jackets and any casual daywear in between for both men and women. It may look small from the outside but the staff make sure to fill the sale rails as much as they can to fit as much stock in the store without looking over crowded. The main attraction of this store is its jumpers that range from Dolce and Gabanna for £45 to Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

It is easy to pull an outfit together in this store for under £100 and the rails are easily labelled with brand names and occasion type.

Jeans: £25

Coats: Over the £100 budget but you can find Burberry coats for £200 and shearling coats for £90

Leather bags: £30-£50

Leather + suede skirts: £25-£40

Jumpers: £15-£45

Tops: £5-£30

Party rail: £20-£70

Shoes: £15-£50

under £100Keep walking down brick lane and you’ll come across a modest looking shop called Laden. Compared to its neighbours it looks very calm and clean. Laden isn’t a vintage shop but instead has experimental and independent designers.

Independent designers can sometimes have a high mark-up for their prices but the prices were definitely reasonable and it is easy to find a pair of on-trend jeans for £10 and dresses from £20-£50.

With a range of different designers in store you’re sure to find something to fit your taste while also supporting local and independent talent. The store is very nicely presented but is just missing some independent shoe and handbag designers and options for men.

There is no need to fret this holiday season when trying to find an amazing outfit for under £100. There’s lots of options that aren’t stress-inducing or expensive if you wander in the right areas and keep your eyes peeled!
